Common Issues
Recipe import does not work
Some recipe sites block automated reading or publish recipe data in unusual formats. Try the same recipe on iOS or Android if you were using the web app, or use manual ingredient entry.
YouTube import does not work
YouTube recipe import requires the AI backend to be configured. It may fail when a video has no useful description or captions.
AI substitutions or calorie estimates are unavailable
AI features require the backend AI proxy to be configured and available. Basic recipe import, saved recipes, scaling, and unit conversion should still work without AI.
Calorie estimates look wrong
Calorie estimates are AI-generated and can be wrong. Use them only as rough guidance, not as medical, dietary, or certified nutrition advice.
Web import is limited
Flutter Web cannot fetch most recipe URLs directly because browsers block many cross-origin requests. The web app uses a fallback reader service where possible, but the mobile app is the best public experience for URL imports.
Deleting Data
Saved recipes are stored locally on your device. You can delete individual saved recipes from the app. You can remove all local Recipee data by deleting the app from your device.
